Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
Justine practices law with a resolution-oriented philosophy.
When there is a disagreement between two people, a choice appears: keep fighting or find a solution. Seems simple, right? In reality the water is usually too muddy to see what’s underneath and those trying to gain clarity end up jumbling precisely what they’re trying to resolve. This is why alternative dispute resolution (ADR) professionals are crucial to solving disagreements—they are the calming element needed to help each party see how to move forward.
ADR is an essential part of the legal process and it can save affected parties time, energy, and stress. A teacher of yoga and mindfulness since 2004, and a practicing lawyer with a Masters in Public Health, Justine Fanarof approaches dispute resolution holistically. Offering a decade of experience in mindfulness-based, resolution-oriented mediation services, Justine works with families, business partners, and others looking for thoughtful solutions to complex problems. Justine is a respected mediator in Bend, Oregon and Houston, Texas who works with parties on all sides of a case. She is available to serve as a mediator, as well as an ADR consultant.
Justine works within the framework of the law while creatively supporting alternate ways of achieving resolution between parties. Her passion for listening and helping people find new ways of working together is what inspired her to study law and practice mediation. Justine is committed to accessibility, collaborative processes, and emergent strategies. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, with additional proficiency in Italian, Hebrew, and American Sign Language, allowing her to communicate with and help a large, diverse population. Unafraid of difficult issues, Justine is the Board President of Houston Coalition Against Hate and serves as a volunteer mediator for the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center.
